How it works
Yumitos is an app for deciding where to eat with other people. This is what is in it, written for someone who has never opened it.
The feed
People on Yumitos post what they are eating and where: a photo, a short video, a review, a route they just finished. You follow people, and the feed is what they share. When you hear about a place here, it comes from someone you chose to follow, not from an ad.
You can like, save, repost, and share what you see. Saving a place keeps it somewhere you can find again when the question of where to eat comes up.
Routes
A route is a few places in order, made into a plan: coffee here, lunch there, the bakery on the way back. You build one from places you know, save it, and share it. Anyone can follow it stop by stop.
Every route is built by a person. Yumitos does not generate them, so a route is always somebody's actual day out, not a list assembled by software.
Outings
An outing is how a group settles on a place. Someone proposes a few options, everyone votes, and the winner becomes the plan. It stands in for the part of the group chat where nobody answers.
On the day, each person can choose to share their live location with the others in that outing and stop whenever they like. It is off unless you turn it on, and we never track your location in the background.
Ordering
In the United States, Canada, and Mexico you can order from local vendors inside the app: the kitchens, food trucks, and other food businesses that sell through Yumitos. You pay by card. Your card details go to Stripe and never touch our servers. The vendor receives your order and the details it needs to get the food to you.
Elsewhere, including the rest of Latin America, Yumitos is for discovery, routes, outings, and the feed. Nothing is for sale there.
Yumi
Yumi is our search, and it starts from a question instead of a filter. Type something like lunch Saturday with Ana and her kids, somewhere with outdoor seating, in English, Spanish, or Portuguese. Yumi works out who is coming from the people you follow and the groups you have made, treats their allergies and dietary needs as hard limits, and ranks what is left by what the group likes, how far it is, and whether it is open.
Every result comes with its reason, and there are no scores. Yumi tells you whether a place works for everyone, never who cannot eat what: each person's allergies stay their own.
Yumi is not a chatbot. It is our own code working from your question, your location, and the dietary needs your party has saved. It never guesses an allergy: you set yours yourself, and nothing adds one without asking you first.
